If you are testing the device less than 1m, you may not get what you want.

Another important tip is to avoid testing your rangefinder through glass or any transparent objects. Most laser used for distance measurement in the market is class1 904nm laser and it cannot penetrate through glass. I once had a customer complaied that he can’t measure adistance by using our golf rangefinder. I aksed him to show me a video and realized that he used the model just through the glass window.
